Stephen R. Donaldson's next book, Against All Things Ending (The Last Chronicles of Thomas Covenant #3, out of a planned 4; ninth TC book altogether), now has an official release date of October 2010. Better yet, SRD has released the first chapter for free online! http://www.stephenrdonaldson.com/28167391AATEChapter1.pdf

Also, coming up this month, Stephen R. Donaldson will be at the Orlando Airport Marriott for an academic conference from March 17th to March 21st. On his website, he says:

"As before, this is the International Conference on the Fantastic in the Arts. I may participate in the programming (panel? reading?), but this is an academic conference, and I will primarily be there to share in the experience. This means that I will be generally available for conversation or even autographs, but I will be doing little or nothing to actually promote my books."

Exciting times for fans!

I just thought I would offer up the opportunity for people here in the community to say hi and maybe share with the rest of us.

I'll start!

I first read Donaldson in 2004 when a close friend highly recommended his works. Being a fan of the crime/thriller genre I started with 'The Man Who...' set, followed by a selection of short stories and then on the The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant.
It took me a while to get used to the different style of writing but once I got going I just had to read on!

How about others here? How did you first get introduced to SRD? Which is your favourite book and are there any other authors you really enjoy reading?
